Same ole' News

No much was new yesterday and neither is it today. Reece continues to be very stable with all of the same feeding/anti-biotics/etc... IV's going through his body. He's fun to hold and cuddle with. We learned that even a baby who's not getting food in the stomach can still have gas and need to be burped. He sucks very well on his pacifier and this causes gas to occur sometimes. BJ and I never really thought about that until nurse Kelly told us she had burped him and it seemed to make a big difference. We're going to use that information today as we hold him and enjoy his little smirks, wrinkles, wide eyes, and sometimes cries.
We continue to ask for prayers for Reece, but would also like you to lift up the 90+ babies and their families today. It's a tough situation for everyone and not everyone makes improvements every day. We've met some very dear parents up here who have tough decisions to make and be witness to. Pray for strength and discernment. Pray more for that comforting peace only Christ can give. To Him be the glory!

  1. Sue and BJ, We are having a great time with Ben today. We have all enjoyed having him around more. We headed down town Holland to watch the St. Patty's parade, now he is sleeping. He is very funny and very sweet. We are so glad Reece is doing well. I can't wait to go up and see him this week.

  2. Stable is such a wonderful word isn't it? Especially when surrounded by little ones who might not be...All those observations make Reece's progress so much more dear, more meaningful. So happy for stable!!!
Sue, you too are missed so by your Blue Star kiddos...I'm sure they had a great time making those cards for you. No worries...Krys is doing a great job holding down the fort!
Praying for Reece's continuing progress in healing, a healthy dose of rest for you and BJ (those trips to GR daily get exhausting!), and plenty of play time with Ben.
As always, if you are in need of anything, PLEASE let me know...be it a meal, a ride, an ear to bend, shoulder to cry on, I'm here. :)

  3. Susan, BJ and Ben, We are so excited to hear the great news that Reece is doing so well. What a blessing to be able to cuddle your sweet baby. Our prayers are continually with you. We have another niece who is there on bedrest with twins coming in June, so now we have more reasons to come up and visit. Hope to see you all soon! Luv ya! Aunt Allie & family

  4. Sue, BJ and Ben. We are so happy Ben is doing well and stable. We will continue to keep you all in our prayers. Reading you describe his smiles and wrinkles Reece gives you when you are holding makes us smile. What a heavenly gift Reece is.
