"Nigh-night Reece"

Ben likes to say "nigh-night" to us before he goes to bed. Well, if Reece could talk, I think he'd say "nigh-night" to us today. Reece spent most of the day sleeping. He also had a restful 7 hours of sleep in his swing before we got there this morning. It's nice as a parent to know he's resting soundly and comfortably. Many nurses have told us he's going to have the bad habit of rocking to sleep when he leaves the hospital, but we think that's totally fine. We figure if rocking him to sleep helps him out when we can't give him much food then we're okay with rocking him to sleep. His food did increase to 5 mls. today (up 2 from yesterday). The progress may be slow, but it seems to be steady. We thank God for these small steps towards the next surgery. We pray for his continued healing and appreciate your prayers as well. The support we've been blessed with is very humbling.
With love,
Sue

  1. Hi Sue,

Great News :) Glad to hear that Reece is still getting some milk and that he is up to 5mls. The eating process is slow but he will be sucking down 30mls in no time! Praying for complete healing of Reece's little body and praying for your family, we know how hard it is to be seperated. Stay strong and keep trusting in the Lord, he will get you to the finish line!

God Bless your family, Tina Jacobsen

  2. Every day we check on line to see how baby Reece is doing, and there is always encouragement. Thanks for this wonderful blog, we really feel connected to your family. When he comes home we will feel like we already know him.
Thinking of you all the time. Betty

  3. Sue and BJ, Reece is doing so well, he'll be home before you know it. As for bad habits...those can be broken at a future time. Just enjoy his tiny specialness for now. It will go all too fast.

  4. Hey there buddy!
I think the rocking to sleep is precious.....Haiden can attest to that habit, too ;) It's just hard to let such an amazing gift from God out of your arms. Reece is such a fighter....I think it's in the genes!! Can't wait to see him again. You are always a thought and prayer away.
