Daddy's time

Before we left Reece to the care of Megan his nurse, BJ was able to hold him. What a joy to take Reece and hold him, kiss him without the plexiglas, and sing "Jesus Loves Me" a few times. Reece was taken off of his morphine drip today, but did need a dose after about 4 hours of freedom. He was awake for awhile and it was fun to see him interact with his Maga and Papa as well. We enjoy spending time with him, but know it will be a long road to recovery. We're very thankful for the "baby" steps of progress along the way. Thank you for lifting him up in prayer. We truly believe it's God's healing hand in his life that's getting him through day by day.

  1. As I sit here viewing your page, listening to the analogy in your music to your trials being like falling rain, I am listening to the showers pour onto my classroom window. Praying the Son shines soon. He is holding Reece, his miracle, just as closely as you or BJ or other loved ones!

  3. Nykamp family,
Just got word of Reece's struggles and my mother's heart is aching for you. I too have joined the prayer warrior ranks on Reece's and your behalf. Praying that God continues to provide steady progress in healing for Reece as well as for Sue. Also, that you may feel as comforted by His arms around you as your arms felt to Reece yesterday.
