Prayers Needed

We got a call late morning telling us the GI specialists were quite concerned. Reece's jaundice levels had gone up again. They looked at all of the poopy diapers collected and at the test results from the early morning. They had decided to do a test to rule out cystic fibrosis. That test was normal. So, they talked with the surgeons and debated to do a HIDA test or go in for a liver biopsy. The conclusion was to do a liver HIDA test first and do the biopsy only if needed. The HIDA test is where they insert some kind of fluid into Reece and watch it be dispersed throughout his liver and gall bladder. There is a drug he's taking now to prepare him for this test. The test will be on Friday and the data will be reviewed on Monday by the GI doctors and surgical doctors. We wait and we pray and we cuddle the one we love!
We're thankful they are checking him closely while he's up here, but we are hoping the jaundice levels go down on their own and things are back to normal before any more problems or surgeries arise. Please pray hard for this. He's acting so wonderfully whole and we are enjoying the time we're spending with him. It's so hard to know there's more to his story than what he's showing us. Thanks for your love. - Sue

  2. Sue, BJ and Ben and sweet baby Reece,
We continue to pray for all of you. Praying for patience... The words come to me: "My ways are not your ways; neither are My thoughts your thoughts..." God is so much bigger than all of us. Keep trusting in His plan. I know it must be extremely hard to get so close to getting Reece home and then having this delay. It will be all the more sweet on the homecoming day! We continue to lift you all up in our prayers and praying for continued healing for Reece. Love to all. Aunt Allie, Uncle Bob and family

Praying for little Reece and that sluggish liver. Praying that God will do more than we can either ask or imagine. God has been with you every step of the way, and he will carry you through another valley too.

  4. Giving praise for the serious things they have ruled out. Continuing to pray that all these other tests will just be a precaution, and that his little liver will kick in and get rid of the jaundice. And praying again that, in the timeline of Reece's life, this will just be remembered as a bump in the road for all of you. Missed you tonight. Oh, and the punch was yellow this year. :)

  5. Hey Dear friends! We are praying especially hard right now for your little peanut! He is such a wonderful blessing from God and we pray that God will touch Reece with HIS healing hands! Oh, and I got your message, Sue, and I am SO glad that Ben had a good time with Bryce on Saturday morning. Those two had a really grand time putting toys down into the duct work in Bryce's room - no worries though I think I got them all out! I am so glad that we were able to help you out that morning! Please call again if Ben needs a Bryce fix! Hugs being sent to you guys now, we love you all so much!
